The Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture has partnered with the Seventh Avenue Merchants Association to bring public art to the Melrose Shopping District. The works of local artists are displayed for 6 to 9 months so the face of the district continually changes thus allowing exposure for more artists. There are currently 3 double sided art panels which allows for 6 artists work to be displayed at one time. The panels are illuminated at night to allow 24/7 enjoyment of the art.

The art portion of our public amenities won an award in the 2005 Year in Review from the Americans For the Arts, Public Art Network, which highlights the best public art projects nationwide. It is also in the book: Phoenix: 21st Century City.
